Children’s author Morris Gleitzman is set to pay a visit to the Academy in October.
Mr Gleitzman wrote his first children's novel in 1985 and his latest title ‘After’ has just been published. The book is the fourth in a series of children’s novels about Felix, a Jewish orphan caught in the middle of the Holocaust. The other three titles are ‘Once’, ‘Then’ and ‘Now’.
Mr Gleitzman has also written a number of funny children’s books.
His books have been published in the UK, the USA, Germany, Italy, Japan, France, Spain, Portugal, Holland, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Indonesia, Czechoslovakia, Russia and China.
Mr Gleitzman will visit the Academy on Thursday, October 18. He will give a talk in the theatre before meeting invited students at a tea party in the library.
Waterstones in Kettering is sending copies of Mr Gleitzman’s books to the library so students can buy and read them before his visit. His books are also available to borrow from the library.
Students from several other schools, including Kettering Science Academy, will also be coming in to the Academy for the visit.
Librarian Amy McKay said: “I’m really looking forward to it. Because he is such a well-known author it will be an honour to have him at Corby Business Academy.”
