Students who have been campaigning for a bus shelter at the bus stop outside of the CBA gates are celebrating after the plan took a huge step forward.
Members of our Academy Senate have been working to try and push the campaign forward throughout this academic year.
Now Northamptonshire County Council cabinet member Councillor Andre Gonzalez De Savage has pledged that the council will match the money raised by the students with cash from an enterprise fund to make the bus shelter possible.
The Senate committed its budget for the year to the shelter, and councillors John McGhee and Stan Heggs have each pledged money from their county council fund.
Cllr Gonzalez De Savage said: “I was very impressed by the skills and the strong business case that was put together, primarily from the students – as opposed to seeing them as children, they are the young businesspeople of the future.”
