Prizes available for perfect Accelerated Reader quiz scores
Readers who score 100% on Accelerated Reader quizzes in the library can now win prizes for their efforts.
Readers who score 100% on Accelerated Reader quizzes in the library can now win prizes for their efforts.
Students who get a perfect score on a quiz will now be given a scratchcard, which when scratched off will reveal if a prize has been won.
The scratchcards bring a new element to the Accelerated Reader programme, which has been running in the library for two years.
When students join us in Year 7 they are assessed to find their colour for Accelerated Reader, and they can then read books in their colour group and take quizzes on them afterwards.
The quizzes can be taken on iPads and computers in the library and at home via the school website.
Assistant librarian Christina Mangin said: “Accelerated Reader quizzes are already very popular.
“If students achieve 60% they pass the quiz. When they pass five quizzes they receive a certificate from the Principal and after 10 passes they receive a prize.
“But now if they get 100% on a quiz they will also get a scratchcard, with the chance to win prizes.”
