Extreme readers

A daring reader has been chosen as the winner of the library’s latest Extreme Reading competition.

Student Lauren McMullen’s photograph (left) was chosen as the winner by Principal John Henrys.

To compete in the Extreme Reading competitions students are invited to submit photographs of themselves reading in unusual or extreme locations.

This time the entries included a photograph of student Jade Cottingham catching up on the latest news while standing inside a bin, as well as Sophie Coleman engrossed in Stephenie Meyer’s ‘Twilight’ in front of a waterfall.

The idea of the competition is to promote the idea of reading for pleasure.

Entries from the latest competition are on display in the library now.

Librarian Amy McKay said: “We had a really good selection of photos entered this year. Mr Henrys said he liked Lauren’s photo because he thought she was very brave.”

For being our most extreme reader at CBA, Lauren wins a copy of the latest Guinness Book of World Records.
