A prize winning children’s author has shared her experiences with students from Corby Business Academy.
A group of Year 7 and 8 students went along to a talk by author Sally Nicholls at the Northamptonshire Learning Resources for Education centre in Northampton.
Ms Nicholls spoke about her new book, Close Your Pretty Eyes, which is about 19th century baby farm murder Amelia Dyer, and her previous book, All Fall Down, which is about the Black Death.
Librarian Amy McKay said: “It was a really good event. She talked about what had inspired her to write, how her career had progressed and what it’s like to be an author.
“She also did a quiz based on All Fall Down in which we had to work out whether we would have survived the Black Death.
“The students really enjoyed the event and they all bought signed copies of her books.”
