Five of our students beat off stiff competition to win places in the Northamptonshire Cross Country Championships.
To gain a place at the county championships they had to finish in the top 20 runners in their category at the district championships – beating runners from schools across Corby and Kettering.
Active teacher Natasha Dunstone said: “All of our entrants ran really well.
“The district championships were held on a really cold day but they didn’t allow the weather to stop them. Some of our runners struggled with the conditions but they all finished and I was really pleased with them.
“We were thrilled with the results and are very excited that five of our students will be competing in the county championships.
“It’s a fantastic achievement. Cross country running is not an easy thing to do and I think they all should be proud of themselves.”
The entrants who made it through to the county championships were Jake Lewis (U19 Boys section), Alex Cotter (U17 Boys), Chloe Illiff (U17 Girls), Dannielle McCann Gaskill (U15 Girls) and Lauren McCullen (U13 Girls).
The championships will be held on Saturday 11th January in Northampton.
