Works by some of the world’s best loved artists have inspired our students.
Works by some of the world’s best loved artists have inspired our students.
About 50 Year 11, 12 and 13 art students visited the Tate Modern and the Saatchi Gallery in London last month to see works by famous artists, including Tracey Emin and Picasso.
Director of Art, Zoe Moore, said: “There was a body image exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery which really related to the work our Year 12 and 13 students are doing at the moment.
“The students were fabulous on the trip and were an absolute credit to the Academy.
“They took photos of the London skyline from the Tate Modern and took notes and sketches for their own work. The whole trip was a huge success.”
Year 13 student Mirella Piatkowska found the visit helped her with her work on the body.
She said: “I was mostly looking at figures of women and the work I saw by other artists really inspired me.
“I particularly enjoyed looking at the works of Tracey Emin and Picasso – their works were very colourful.”
