Our Sixth Formers will spend a day meeting representatives from top universities and local businesses to help them prepare for life after Corby Business Academy.
The Academy has invited staff and student ambassadors from a range of universities to give talks to our students on a variety of topics, including university application, student finance and student life, during Curriculum Day on February 6th.
In addition, business mentors from RS Components and other local businesses will conduct speed interviews with all students to help prepare them for the world of work.
Head of Sixth Form, Kim Isaksen, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for all students to develop skills and access important information regarding their next steps from high quality providers. The day should be a lot of fun and encourage students to set their sights high in terms of future aspirations.”
Our Sixth Formers have been working on their letters of application and CVs in preparation for the sessions with the business mentors. During Curriculum Day the students will receive personalised feedback on their interview skills, letter of application and CV from their allocated business mentor.
The universities which will take part in the event include the University of Nottingham, University of Birmingham, De Montfort Leicester and University of Leicester.
