Our Academy has become one of the most effective schools in the country at enabling students to make progress.
All schools are measured to see what progress their students make from when they arrive in Year 7 at Key Stage 2 to when they complete their studies in Year 11 at Key Stage 4.
The Academy’s latest progress results are significantly above the national average and have placed it in the top 25 per cent of schools nationally and the fourth highest in the county.
Principal John Henrys (pictured) said: “Across the board all our students are making more progress than is made nationally and locally.
“Our students are separated into 20 different groups, including gender and prior attainment, and in all of them the Academy achieves scores which are significantly above the national average.
“This shows that no matter what starting point students arrive here with they are able to secure accelerated progress through a highly personalized curriculum and high quality teaching.
“The Academy has worked hard over the past five years to instill an ethos of achievement and aspiration and students now understand the importance of achieving the best qualification possible.
“Our staff and students continue to work hard to obtain the best possible outcomes.”
The latest progress results are based on the progress made by last year’s Year 11 students – the first student group to travel all the way up the Academy from Year 7.
CBA Chair of Governors, Kerry James, said: “It is commendable how much progress the Academy has made, and it makes me incredibly proud to be part of the CBA family.
The upmost dedication and tireless hard work by both staff and students is admirable and I am delighted with the ongoing success.”
