Northamptonshire County Council has issued guidance to all secondary schools about changes to the immunisation programme which will affect 13-14 year olds from this year.
Research has shown that the direct protection that young children get from the Meningitis C vaccination is short-lived.
As a result Northamptonshire’s Healthcare Foundation Trust’s Children an Young People’s service will offer 13-14 year olds the Meningitis C booster vaccination from this year onwards.
