Our young athletes won Gold for Northamptonshire at the Panathlon Challenge.
Students from Unit and pupils from Billing Brook represented the county at the event which promotes competitive sport among young people who have special educational needs or disabilities.
The challenge featured contests in Table Cricket, Polybat, Field Athletics, Kurling and Athletics Races.
CBA Unit Director Claire Robinson said: “It was great for us to represent the county and to develop relationships with students from other schools.
“We’re very proud of the students’ achievements. It was lovely to see them participating in the different sports and looking so happy.”
Teams from Wiltshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire also took part in the event.
The competition was very close with Northamptonshire and Berkshire both coming first with 52 points each.
However, because Northamptonshire won more first places in the various events it was awarded Gold overall.
The students received their medals from GB wheelchair basketball squad member Freya Levy.
The competition was staged at Stoke Mandeville in Buckinghamshire – the birthplace of the Paralympic movement.
