A group of GCSE students arranged a number of activities for a baby as part of their Child Development course.
The Year 9 students were visited by seven-month-old Joanna as part of their work on the development of babies.
They used the knowledge and skills they have learned to deliver a variety of age-appropriate activities, including sensory play with jelly, pasta and water, creative play with homemade musical instruments and discovery play with bubbles.
Teacher Kim Isaksen said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for the students to witness the physical, intellectual, social and emotional development of a baby through play.
“We would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Cornish for bringing Joanna in to play.
“The students were able to put much of the theory they have learned into practice in a fun session.”
Year 9 student Courtney MacLeod prepared the cold jelly for the session.
She said: “Picking up the jelly developed Joanna’s fine-motor skills and helped her teething gums.”
