There’s plenty coming up in the next few months for our Music Department, including a joint concert with a local brass band.
On Saturday, November 10, the GUS Brass Band will perform a joint concert in the Academy’s theatre with CBA Vocalize and the Senior Concert Band.
The Senior Concert Band will also be entering the National Concert Band Festival for the first time, and will compete at Northampton School for Boys on Sunday, November 18.
Director of Music Clive Wears said: “All the rehearsals have started. There’s now over 150 students learning instruments at Corby Business Academy.
“They’re learning a variety of instruments and this term we will also have a team of visiting instrumental teachers from the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Centre.”
Students can learn to play brass, woodwind and percussion instruments, and can also take singing lessons.
Mr Wears said: “It’s not too late to get involved. If anyone wants to learn an instrument at CBA see Mrs Cornish or myself.”
