October 2012 Sixth Form Travel and Tourism visit to London – Tuesday December 18th 2012

October 2012

Dear Parent/Carer

Re: Sixth Form Travel and Tourism visit to London – Tuesday December 18th 2012

I am writing to inform you of a visit to London arranged for students taking  Travel and Tourism in the Sixth Form to investigate some real example of the components of the industry and gain a behind the scenes insight.

The visit takes place on a designated Enterprise day on Tuesday December 18th   2012. Students to meet at Corby Train Station at 9.10am to catch the 9.27am to London. Alternatively, if this is not possible, they should be at the Academy at 8.30am if they require a lift to the station.  We will be returning to Corby Train Station at 11.26pm where parents should arrange to meet their child. If this is not possible then staff can arrange transport home if this has been previously agreed. Students will not be allowed to make their own way home.

The cost of the visit will be £20 train fare plus money for snacks/meal/drinks. Alternatively, your son/daughter may wish to bring snacks, lunch and drinks with them. There will be opportunities to take the Big Bus tour @ £17 each but a free walking tour is also available. We will be visiting some London attractions with a talk by the management, a museum and art gallery, a hotel plus an evening visit to the Winter Wonderland. All these activities are free but some students may wish to pay for extras such as a trip on the London Eye or Big Wheel in the Winter Wonderland. We hope to go for a meal in a restaurant (we will find a cheap deal).

Your son/daughter has expressed an interest in this trip so please return the reply slip by Friday 9th November 2012. A deposit of £20 will secure the train travel and then other money will be taken on the day.

Please supply an emergency contact telephone number for both the day time and evening. Any queries please email hfeatherstone@corbybusinessacademy.org or leave a message with Reception.

Yours faithfully

H Featherstone
