Unit Provison

Unit Curriculum Intent

The Academy’s Unit Provision will deliver a high quality, personalised and innovative curriculum that is aspirational in the attainment for all students, regardless of their starting points.  Experiences will be rich in aspiration and allow students to make progress despite sometimes challenging circumstances. There will be a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters independence, develops confidence and instils resilience in all students.

Educational experiences will also celebrate individuality and provide opportunities to embed functional skills for lifelong learning. This will be coupled by a high focus on personal development, which enables students to gain cultural capital and contribute towards society as they move through the transitions ahead of them.

 

Curriculum Pathways

Students in the Unit follow a specific pathway. Each pathway is designed to be holistic in the development of the whole child; it covers academic lessons and accreditation, interventions linked to social interaction, communication, fine motor skills, self-help and independence.  Our provision is underpinned by protective behaviours and zones of regulation supporting our student’s emotional resilience and wellbeing.
