Modern Foreign Languages

The Modern Foreign Languages curriculum will enable students to build their language skills so that they are confident and increasingly more independent learners. It will ensure that students develop a series of linguistic skills such as translation, reading, listening, speaking and writing.

Through a variety of engaging and socially relevant topics, students will continually build on their vocabulary. We will deliver a curriculum where all students can relate with a global community, as well as acquire knowledge to interact with confidence when opportunities arise.

Planning and delivery will support learning and reasoning skills so all students can access a Modern Foreign Language. We will deliver varied content and learning opportunities, which contain a strong emphasis on preparing students to be global citizens. Through obtaining knowledge of other countries, students will gain cultural capital and knowledge of other customs that can last a lifetime.
